INTRODUCTION
Ray
Of Light is definitely one of Madonna's most brilliant
musical masterpieces to date. Heavily collaborating
with techno-wizard artist and producer, William Orbit,
Madonna was able to re-create and innovate pop music
of the late 90's with her seventh studio album. Ray
Of Light was greatly recognized and praised in the music
industry. It ultimately earned Madonna a handful of
Grammy awards in 1999. This new musical direction ultimately
re-invented her own musical style in future albums.
While looking towards the future, Madonna didn't forget
her past. With regards to her other musical partners,
she worked with familiar names including Patrick Leonard
and Marius De Vries.
Madonna's
alter-ego in this project was called Veronica Electronica.
This name was also the title of the rumoured and never-released
remix album for Ray Of Light. Nonetheless, countless
remixes for the singles released were inevitable. Madonna
had commissioned some of the greatest musicians and
DJs to remix, including Victor Calderone, William Orbit,
Dallas Austin and Kruder & Dorfmeister.
A
new musical direction. A new state of mind. A new Madonna.
Together with the birth of her daughter, Lourdes, embracing
and practicing Yoga, studying religions and ultimately
embarking on a new spiritual journey, they all had helped
to make a better version of Madonna. |
